The Radio Amateurs of Lebanon Association (RAL) in association with Besancon Baabdat, St. Charbel Orphanage home, and Caritas Lebanon (children from India, Iraq, and Sudan), have completed this year’s “Greetings from Santa” event. Amazing activities at three different locations, touching over 120 boys and girls.
The event involved Amateur Radio operators’ setting up amateur radio stations, allowing children to talk to Santa Claus in the North Pole during a break in his busy gift-production schedule, in a warm Christmas decorated environment.
Radio Amateurs gave the children the thrill of their lives talking with “Santa” via Amateur radio. It was thrilling to the children, hearing the "Santa" voice and be able to ask him all sorts of questions. "Santa" in his discussions, reinforced some basic values and reminded the children to continue to be good and love each other.
Special thanks to the dedicated Santa Team: KC2UHM – Dean, OD5MM – Irma (event coordinator), OD5RI – Riri, OD5RW – John (Santa), OD5TE – Hani and OD5UX – Mario.
